Samples of published and unpublished writingI was a community columnist for the Lincoln Journal Star, Lincoln, NE, and a staff writer for the Lakota Nation Journal, working out of the Rapid City, SD, office and later at the Pine Ridge Bureau, in Martin, SD. Prior to this I had the short story, “Old Lame Bull’s Spook” published in the South Dakota Review. I was later awarded the Gertrude B. Anderson Award for Excellence in Creative Writing, Creative Writing Program, English Department, University of South Dakota, SD. Also, I later had the short story, “Lesson of the Feather” published as a children’s book by Tipi Press, Chamberlain, SD. |
